Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
