Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault â some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen â between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, âOur prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.â
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a âcomplex investigationâ into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
